How can I tell if a journal is peer reviewed?

Answer

The Library subscribes to a database called Ulrich’s International Periodicals Directory, which includes information about journals. Search for the journal title in Ulrich’s and look for little referee icon next to the title in the search results:

Journals often include some content that is not peer reviewed, like editorials and book reviews. If you are evaluating an article from a peer reviewed journal, make sure it is categorized as a scholarly, academic, or research article.
