Why can’t I access this e-book I found using the library search?
Answer
There are a few reasons you might have trouble accessing an e-book:
- It might not be in the U of A Library’s collection. Search the Library includes materials from other institutions in Alberta, like MacEwan and NorQuest College. To limit your search results to U of A e-books, on the left side of the page under “Location,” select “University of Alberta Internet.”
- You might need to find and click on the “University of Alberta Access” link. This link will take you to another database or publisher’s website to access the full text of the book.
- If you are not a current U of A student, staff or faculty, you may not have off-campus access to e-resources.
- There might be a technical issue. If the above explanations don’t help, ask us! We can investigate the problem.
