Can I return books to an Edmonton Public Library location?

Yes, you can return University of Alberta Library books to an Edmonton Public Library (EPL) location. The University of Alberta Library and EPL are members of The Alberta Library (TAL) and TAL resource sharing policy states that “borrowed materials can be returned at any member library in Alberta and these returns will be forwarded to the host library”.
However, we strongly recommend returning books to University of Alberta library locations, or a NEOS library. It can take a couple weeks for the book to return to the U of A from EPL, and in the meantime, the book remains on your account. This means you may receive multiple overdue notices and fines notices, and there is a risk that your borrowing privileges may be suspended if the return process is delayed.
