Can I borrow books located at libraries other than the University of Alberta?
Answer
Yes! The University of Alberta Library has agreements with many libraries to make it easy for U of A students, staff and faculty to borrow books from their libraries in person. U of A students, staff and faculty can visit other government, health, college, and university libraries in the NEOS Library Consortium and register for a library card with them using your ONEcard as proof of NEOS member library status. If you're unable to go in person, request the item through Interlibrary Loan, and it will be brought to U of A Library for pick-up.
You can also borrow books from the Edmonton Public Library by registering for the L-Pass.
If you are traveling to another academic institution in Canada or United States, check our Reciprocal Agreements page to see if you are eligible to borrow items from their library while you are there.
