Can alumni access library databases and e-books off campus?

Effective November 28, 2025: The University of Alberta Library is preparing to launch a new authentication system for alumni e-resources. During this transition, we must temporarily suspend access to the current suite of e-resources.
For all other library e-resources and e-books, alumni are not able to access them off campus. Alumni can access almost all library e-resources and e-books on campus using a temporary Library Network Access ID, available from any library service desk. Depending on the platform, e-books may or may not allow you to download all or part of the book for offline use without having a current Campus Computing ID (CCID).
