How do I get a book that isn’t available through the library?

Answer

To request a book or an article that is not in the U of A Library catalogue or freely available online, you have two options:

  • Request an Interlibrary loan. Library staff will search libraries within Alberta as well as worldwide for the book or article, often providing digital versions when available.
  • Recommend a purchase. All current students, staff, and faculty of the University of Alberta community are welcome to suggest additions to the Library's collection. Materials that support the research and teaching programs of the University of Alberta will be given first priority.
