What’s the best database to start my research?

Answer

A good place to start a search would be by using the ”Search the Library” box located on the library’s homepage.  It searches for print and ebook holdings in the NEOS Libraries catalogue AND ~300 databases AND the Education and Research Archive (ERA) all in one search. For more information on searching, see the UA Library Search Guide.

Our Subject Guides will also recommend databases for specific topics that may not be searched by using "Search the Library". For example, if you are in Business, there is a link to all the Business Databases the Library subscribes to on the Subject Guide page. The Business Guides link will show you guides created by librarians that recommend databases and books to use when searching on a specific topic, such as Finance or Marketing and Consumer Behaviour.

You may also wish to make an appointment with a librarian for help with your research.
