Why does the self-checkout machine say that I am a "delinquent"?

Answer

The software used by the University of Alberta Library uses the term “delinquent” to refer to a person who has fines on their accounts, even if it is a fine of 50 cents or 150 dollars. If the fine is over $50, your account will be blocked from borrowing books until you pay down the fine, or return the item the fine is attached to. For more information, visit one of our library service desks.
