What does this error message mean: "Your CCID does not entitle you to use this library service"?
Answer
Our existing licensing agreements restrict remote access (off campus) to electronic library resources to current faculty, students, and staff. This access is determined by the University of Alberta's Human Resources Software (PeopleSoft). Please contact your department / faculty with any questions concerning remote access to electronic library resources.
Guests and Visitors of the University are entitled to access electronic resources while on campus from public workstations in University of Alberta libraries, campus computer labs, departmental workstations as well as on personal devices (when connected to UWS wifi).
Alumni are able to remotely access (off-campus) a limited selection of databases through the Alumni eResources website. Alumni can access the majority of our online resources on a University of Alberta campus using a Library Network Access ID. To be issued a Library Network Access ID, visit any U of A library service desk with valid photo ID and proof of current Canadian address.
