In July 2025, the University of Alberta Library will introduce a new way for our students, faculty and staff to search and find library resources.

This means you will see various changes as we move through our implementation project.

Changes to UAlberta the current University of Alberta Library Search:

• The UAlberta Library's EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) now only displays library catalogue holdings from University of Alberta Library collections (EDS continues to search 300 article databases in addition to the library catalogue). Holdings from other NEOS Libraries are no longer included.
• Only University of Alberta Library locations are available as pick-up locations. Other NEOS Library locations are no longer included.

Borrowing / accessing materials from libraries beyond the University of Alberta Library:

• Several NEOS Libraries have now completed their implementations of new Library Services Platforms. As NEOS Libraries continue to progress with their migrations to new systems, you will not be able to renew items that you have checked out from other NEOS Libraries. Please Ask Us if you have any questions.
• If you need any materials that are not available through University of Alberta Library Collections:
  • Current University of Alberta students, staff & faculty, and alumni should place a request through our Interlibrary Loan service.
  • Current University of Alberta students, staff & faculty may also recommend a purchase (CCID required) for the University of Alberta Library.
  • Patrons from other NEOS Libraries and members of the public should place Interlibrary Loan requests through their home libraries.
